Overall, the Luftwaffe had launched 1,484 sorties and losses were high – 42 aircraft, with 89 pilots and aircrew killed or captured. While 47 RAF aircraft were destroyed in the airfield attacks, only one was a fighter, to which can be added 13 lost in aerial combat, with three pilots killed and two more severely burned.

Following Adlertag’s anti-climactic disappointment, persistent cloudy skies continued to throttle Luftwaffe operations, with only 91 bomber and 398 fighter sorties flown the next day. ErprGr 210 successfully struck Manston, destroying four hangars and three Blenheim IFs (600 Sqn), while KGs 27, 53, and 55 attacked eight airfields in small raids that did little damage. The attack on Middle Wallop hit the hangars and offices of 609 Squadron but lost the He 111 carrying KG 55 Kommodore Oberst Alois Stoeckl and Luftgau VIII COS Oberst Walter Frank, killing both. Additionally, various freie Jagd sweeps and Stuka attacks on Channel shipping resulted in further fighter combat. In the first three days of Adlerangriff Fighter Command lost 36 Spitfires and Hurricanes while the Jagdwaffe lost 26 ‘Emils’.
